DAC Beachcroft is looking to fill two roles within the Specialist Liability team. We welcome applications from candidates across England & Wales. Our team operates both in-office and remotely.
(i) A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (3-8 years PQE) with expertise in civil claims against the Police, including knowledge of false imprisonment, HRA, and PACE.
(ii) A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (3-8 years PQE) with experience in civil claims involving discrimination or breaches of the Equality Act.
The roles offer the chance to work in dynamic areas of law such as abuse claims, discrimination, police misconduct, and more. Both positions include opportunities to expand into these areas. Our clients include leading insurance companies, local authorities, Police forces, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and various public sector and corporate entities. The work involves providing advice on sensitive issues and preparing defenses for trial, handling both pre-litigation and litigation cases.
What you will do:
- Handle complex claims, providing timely, commercially aware advice to clients.
- Attend conferences and trials, proof witnesses, and prepare disclosure of sensitive documentation.
- Draft Court documents and attend trials and applications with Counsel.
- Achieve a minimum of 1,440 chargeable hours annually.
- Support marketing and business development activities.
- Ensure quality control and timely management information reporting.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training and publications.
- Handle confidential information per firm protocols.
- Work with a friendly team.
