DAC Beachcroft is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our Clinical Risk team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate individual to join an award-winning, progressive and highly specialised team. Our Clinical Risk cluster is the biggest nationally - handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work. The team acts for a variety of clients, including NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, the MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a pre-litigated caseload of clinical negligence claims and Inquest matters of varying complexity and value.
- Managing the cases in accordance with client protocols including data protection, billing and administrative oversight and running the files in accordance with internal and external KPIs.
- Working collaboratively within the team to consistently deliver and uphold excellent service standards.
- Making an appropriate contribution to non-fee-earning activity e.g. knowledge sharing, training, client seminars and business development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous clinical negligence experience would be highly desirable but is not essential. We will also consider candidates with limited experience, but who have strong academic qualifications, are practical and enthusiastic and who have a strong sense of team and a desire to learn.
- An ability to understand and work through complex issues.
- A demonstrable ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues and to be highly client-focused.
- Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues, building up strong relationships.
