Our London Commercial Real Estate team is seeking a talented 5 PQE lawyer to join a dynamic and growing practice acting across the full spectrum of commercial property matters. The team advises a broad and sophisticated client base, including private property companies, consortiums and investment funds. We are regularly instructed on complex commercial and mixed use projects, with work spanning acquisitions, site assembly, funding and construction arrangements, lettings, asset management and disposals. We also have a strong real estate finance offering which provides the opportunity to work on transactions that combine property expertise with an understanding of funding structures and security arrangements. This role offers exposure to high-quality London-based work within a collaborative and commercially focused team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting partners and senior lawyers on significant matters, while also taking responsibility for managing transactions and developing strong client relationships. It is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious 5 PQE lawyer seeking to deepen their development and finance experience within a supportive and entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the seniors in the team having responsibility for key tasks in large scale or high value projects, as well as generally supporting the wider transaction.
  • Where appropriate, lead on transactions (following training and supervision) and act as primary contact for clients on a day to day basis providing them with commercially focused legal advice.
  • Work closely to client protocols and processes.
  • Comply with the required standards for file opening, conflict management, and financial management of files, billing regimes etc. as well as the specific reporting or other management requirements of individual clients.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.
  • Make an appropriate contribution to non fee‑earning activity e.g. knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, business development and/or client care and relationship management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A 5-6yr PQE solicitor with a strong academic record.
  • Experience from a national/regional firm in all aspects of commercial property legal advice, including sales, acquisitions, varying landlord & tenant matters, due diligence and reporting.
  • Strong technical skills and an ability to understand and work through complex issues with assistance.
  • A demonstrable ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of self‑sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority.
  • A team oriented and collegiate way of working including experience of having supervised or managed more junior colleagues, in transactional matters and generally.
  • Experience of and success with business development and client care or relationship management activities.
  • Confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships internally, as well as being able to undertake client marketing and influence at all levels.
  • An ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues, building up strong relationships.
  • Strong organisation skills to ensure a pragmatic and methodical approach to handling a variety of commercial property matters simultaneously.
  • A positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives.

  • Attention to detail and a concern for quality.
  • Ambitious and eager to progress.
