DAC Beachcroft has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice within our Corporate, Banking, Insolvency and Tax team. This is a 30-month full-time contract based in our Bristol office, with a start date in September. Forming an integral part of an established team of over 40 fee earners, the main purpose of this role is to provide an excellent standard of support to the team across the practice areas in Bristol and London.

Joining DAC Beachcroft as a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice offers a structured path to becoming a fully qualified solicitor, with comprehensive support through the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE1 and SQE2). You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, enhancing your skills in legal research, client interaction, document preparation and case management. Throughout the programme you will have a dedicated study day each week with BPP University. All course and exam fees are covered and you will earn a competitive salary while you learn. The day release study format ensures a balanced approach to work and study, making it an excellent opportunity to build a successful legal career at DAC Beachcroft. The Corporate, Banking, Insolvency and Tax team at DAC Beachcroft is a large team with a significant presence in our offices in Bristol and London. The Bristol and London teams work closely together to provide an excellent service for our clients. The main focus of the team's work is dealing with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate and finance transactions, insolvency situations and general advisory work. The work is project based, very involved and engaging. Our clients are discerning and expect a gold standard of service. We advise a number of in-house legal teams at major corporates as well as significant clients in the healthcare, real estate and financial services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a first class client-facing service, liaising positively with clients and their support staff over the phone, email and in person, and building relationships as appropriate.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of correspondence, agreements and other documents.
  • Amending documents, proof-reading and creating comparisons to highlight changes.
  • Preparing draft engagement letters.
  • Opening and closing files.
  • Liaising with overseas counsel.

  • A can-do, proactive attitude to approaching new tasks and picking up work.
  • The motivation to pursue a career in the Legal sector.
  • High levels of attention to detail and good relationship building skills.
  • Must work well within a team and high pressure environments.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Reliable and adaptable, with a good attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn.

Requirements

  • A qualifying Law degree at a 2:1 or above.
  • A minimum of BBB at A Level or equivalent.
  • At least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.

Important information about funding

This role is offered as a Level 7 apprenticeship and is subject to government apprenticeship funding rules. Under current national policy, only individuals who meet the government’s eligibility criteria can be enrolled on a levy-funded Level 7 apprenticeship.
