The BI Developer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support the data-driven needs of DACB. This includes the creation of Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand their reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, SSRS, and SSIS, with the additional capability of leveraging Azure data platforms and MS Purview. Experience in migrating from SSRS to Power BI is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
- Paginated Reporting: Create and manage paginated reports using SSRS and Power BI Report Builder.
- Data Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements, providing analytical insights and developing custom reports.
- T-SQL Development: Write efficient T-SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting purposes.
- SSRS and SSIS: Develop and maintain SSRS reports, and create data integration workflows using SSIS.
- Data Migration: Participate in the migration of reports and data sources from SSRS to Power BI.
- Collaboration: Liaise with legal colleagues, IT, and other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality BI solutions.
- Data Governance: Assist in implementing data governance practices using tools like MS Purview.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including data sources, data models, and report structures.

- BI Development: Proven experience in developing BI solutions, especially with Power BI.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong T-SQL skills for creating and managing complex queries.
- SSRS and SSIS Experience: Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.
- Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.
- Data Migration: Experience in migrating reports and data sources from SSRS to Power BI is a plus.
