Paralegal - Casualty Injury in Birmingham

We are looking for a number of Paralegals to join our market leading CSG team that works with over 40 insurance companies and self‑insured corporates. This role will be situated in Birmingham/Newport on an XX basis, where you will be asked to come into the office 5 times a week.

What you will do?

• Provide a timely, professional and high‑quality service to our clients in the management of claims.
• Be responsible for a varied caseload of pre‑litigated or litigated work.
• Screen matters for prospects and liaise with clients upon receipt of instructions.
• Review instructions and provide client advice on case prospects.
• Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards.
• Instruct experts and counsel, draft Witness Statements and other Court documents.
• Maintain contact with our clients and their customers whilst proactively managing their expectations.
• Meet individual performance measures (financial performance, realisation rates and other KPIs).
• Ensure that the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained.

Who you are

• Interpersonal skills - communication skills to liaise with clients, intermediaries and colleagues on the phone and in person.
• Analytical skills - the ability to critically look at factual evidence, identify key legal arguments and apply the same.
• Commercial sense - the ability to know the principle or law but also know when it is worth pursuing it.
• Resilience - the ability to stand your ground in a telephone negotiation and to receive feedback.
• Commitment and enthusiasm - with a professional attitude.
