We welcome applications from lawyers with a range of litigation backgrounds. Prior defendant experience is not essential, and we would be pleased to consider candidates with Claimant, clinical negligence or in-house litigation experience who are keen to transition into this area of work.

Our Casualty Injury team specialises in employers' liability and public liability claims, handling matters across the full range of values and complexities. You will be joining a collaborative, inclusive and genuinely supportive team, with structured and ongoing training provided to support your success in the role. The position offers exposure to a varied and high-quality EL/PL caseload, with the opportunity to play a key role in achieving positive outcomes and delivering tangible value for our clients. As part of the team, you will continue to develop your technical expertise in EL/PL personal injury work, strengthen your organisational and time‐management skills, and build strong professional relationships across the firm and the wider legal and insurance market.

What you will do?

  • Alongside managing your own caseload of multi‐track EL/PL claims, you will take on a supervisory role, supporting and overseeing a small team of Paralegals handling volume litigated EL/PL claims.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Technical supervision and oversight of EL/PL claims.
    • Conducting performance reviews and supporting the development of team members.
    • Absence management and pastoral support of the Paralegal team.
    • Monitoring team financial performance and ensuring targets are met.
    • Ensuring files are progressed proactively and efficiently to conclusion.
    • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, demonstrating appropriate technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
    • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives, including client training, marketing events, clinics and shadowing opportunities.

Who you are

  • A qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, ideally looking to take the next step into supervision and people management. Previous supervisory experience is desirable but not essential; full support and training will be provided.
  • A strong team player who enjoys supporting and developing junior colleagues.
  • Experienced in handling a personal injury or litigation caseload, including EL/PL or similar work types.
  • Proactive and confident in contributing ideas to support continuous improvement.
  • Highly compliant with client SLAs, protocols and KPIs.
  • IT‐literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
  • Analytical, with the ability to review evidence critically and identify issues or anomalies.

If you're looking to join an industry‐leading EL/PL team where your expertise is valued and your career development is actively supported, we would be delighted to hear from you.

What's in it for you?

  • High levels of flexibility and a great work life balance.
  • A well‐rounded remuneration package (which includes private medical insurance, income protection insurance and discounted gym membership, amongst many other benefits).
  • Opportunities for growth and progression including professional funding.
  • In person and remote social events.
  • Opportunity to get involved in a range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities.

We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, which aligns closely to our cultural principles (Determined, Clear, Creative and Supportive). If you are excited about this role and being part of our culture, but your past experience does not align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
