DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Case Administration Supervisor to join our Casualty Injury team in Birmingham.
Our Casualty Injury team focuses on employers' liability and public liability claims, with claims valued up to £100k.

What you will do?
Direct supervision and management of a small team of case administrators who will have responsibility for admin related to volume litigated credit hire cases.
Through effective supervision and support of fee earners, to be accountable & responsible for the following:
- All interim and performance reviews, including probation reviews
- Absence management
- Cascading and communicating information from senior management.
- Motivating and engaging the team, as well as overseeing their well‑being
- In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain an awareness of the firm's strategies and plans.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications.
- Ensure new joiners are adequately inducted into the team and that required training is delivered to existing team as and when required.
- Provide guidance and support to develop team and progress through the career framework.
- Monitor team performance in regard to allocations/file set‑ups/trust balances and any other required tasks set by the management team.
- Ensure files are set up and run proactively and effectively by the relevant administrator, with appropriate deadlines met.
- Ensure that case admin carry out work effectively to meet the needs of the clients and the commercial requirements of the firm.
- Ensure any emerging risk or compliance issues that are raised by case admins are addressed and managed in conjunction with the Team Partner in the first instance.
- Effective allocation of work amongst the team to meet the skills and technical knowledge of the individual while ensuring work is carried out profitably for the firm and client.
- Raise and deal with any complaint or any escalated risk or compliance issues appropriately.
Who you are
- Previous supervision experience, ideally in a casualty environment; other supervision experience will be considered.
- A high level of personal compliance with client SLAs, protocols and KPIs.
- Good people‑management skills including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levels.
- IT skills – Be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Prioritisation & organisation skills – A strong ability to organise their own time, identify priority tasks and know when to ask for help.
- Analytical skills – The ability to critically look at factual evidence, identify what is not right/out of the ordinary.
- Interpersonal skills – The ability to get on with a team, speak to a customer on the phone and meet a client.
- Resilience – The ability to stand their ground in a telephone negotiation and to receive feedback.
- Aptitude to learn – The ability to retain knowledge and put into play new skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
