We are seeking a Solicitor/Associate (2+ PQE) with an interest in construction, engineering and energy claims to join the team. You will play an active role in the continued growth and success of the team, in collaboration with our wider practice in the North, nationally and internationally.
Our team acts for all the main insurance companies and parties in the supply chain across the construction industry, and deals with the full spectrum of insurance work from policy coverage advice, recovery and strategic advice to insurers. Key Responsibilities- A mixed workload of construction insurance claims, including policy coverage advice on CAR/EAR issues in particular
- Responsibility for conducting both pre-action and litigated matters, as well as assisting more senior fee earners
- Responsibility for running disclosure exercises and drafting witness statements
- A good understanding of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
- The opportunity to liaise directly with experts and counsel
- 2+ years PQE, with insurance litigation experience, construction experience a bonus
- Strong relationship and client-handling skills, commensurate with experience
- A good level of self-sufficiency, managing a caseload commensurate with experience
- Change-oriented, with a positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives
- Team oriented and collegiate, with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team
- A willingness to work hard as part of a highly ambitious and driven team
