Looking for high-quality, intellectually stimulating work in a team that values flexibility, collaboration and progression? Our Surveyors & Valuers Liability team is growing, and we are looking to appoint two Solicitors or Associates to support a broad and exciting range of professional indemnity matters. The roles sit within our national Professional & Commercial Risk cluster, offering outstanding work for high-profile clients — all within a supportive and flexible working environment. You’ll be joining a dedicated and specialist team with deep expertise in defending claims across the full spectrum of the property sector, working with major insurers, global and national property consultancy groups, estate agents, property managers, as well as regional property service providers. The role offers a broader mix of Surveyors & Valuers work, alongside other professional indemnity matters within the wider team. You’ll play an active role in the continued success of the practice, collaborating with colleagues across our Professional & Commercial Risk cluster nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- A mixed workload of professional negligence claims, with a focus on surveyors and valuers
- Responsibility for pre-action and litigated matters, as well as supporting more senior fee earners on high-value cases
- The opportunity to liaise with clients, experts, and counsel
- Involvement in disclosure exercises, witness statement drafting, and case strategy
- Exposure to alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation
- The chance to contribute to business development and team knowledge-sharing
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- ~3+ years PQE, with interest/expertise in professional indemnity or insurance litigation
- Surveyors & Valuers experience would be ideal, but is not essential
- Excellent legal analysis, drafting, and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong client-handling skills and the ability to manage a caseload appropriate to your level
- Enthusiasm to learn and progress within a high-performing team
