DAC Beachcroft is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our Clinical Risk team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate individual to join an award-winning, progressive, and highly specialised team. Our Clinical Risk cluster is the largest nationally, handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work. This includes acting for clients such as NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team with varied work involving pre-litigation and litigated defendant clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts.
  • Tasks include instructing experts and counsel, liaising with witnesses, arranging conferences, drafting documents, conducting research, and managing disclosure issues.
  • Opportunities to attend conferences and hearings with counsel are available.
  • Following client protocols and processes closely, using the bespoke case management system.
  • Contributing to non-fee-earning activities such as knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, and business development.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Previous clinical negligence experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong academic qualifications, practical enthusiasm, team orientation, and a keen desire to learn are valued, even with limited experience.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex issues.
  • Adopting a commercial perspective on legal issues with a client-focused approach.
  • Confidently and professionally managing relationships with clients on day-to-day issues.
