Application Deadline: 25 June 2025 Department: CSG – Corporate Insurance and Risk (Retail / Transport / Leisure / Construction) Employment Type: Permanent Location: Newport Description We are seeking a Claims Handler to join our market-leading, lawyer-led claims handling service within our CSG team. Location & Working Pattern This position is based in Newport. Initially, you will be required to attend the office 5 days a week during your probation period, followed by a flexible hybrid working pattern. Role Responsibilities You will provide a professional, timely, and high-quality service in managing claims. With support from a supervisor and team manager, your duties will include: Managing a varied caseload of volume pre-litigated work. Assessing claims to determine fault and appropriate compensation within authority limits. Resolving claims through negotiation and litigation, ensuring adherence to client service standards. Maintaining proactive communication with clients and their customers, managing expectations. Meeting individual performance metrics related to quality and financial targets. Upholding the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards. Candidate Profile Prior experience as a Claims Handler or legal qualification is not required. We welcome applicants with customer service, retail experience, school leavers, or graduates who are team players and eager to learn. Essential Skills & Qualities IT literacy, especially Excel and Word. Strong prioritization and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to analyze factual evidence and identify key legal arguments. Commercial awareness to assess the value of pursuing legal principles. Resilience to handle negotiations and feedback effectively. Professional enthusiasm and commitment. Quick learner with initiative and resourcefulness.
