UC4 Platform Engineer

At Dabster, we specialize in connecting top talent with leading global companies. We are currently seeking an experienced UC4 Platform Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is pivotal in managing, installing, and supporting the UC4/Automic environment across various platforms including SAP, Linux, and Windows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and apply batch scheduling methodology, including dependencies and timing.
• Install and upgrade Automic/UC4 V12, V21 agent and engine components.
• Set up Automic application servers, service managers, and connect them with databases.
• Install and configure Automic Web Interface (AWI) for user access.
• Perform agent and service manager installations for SAP, Linux, and Windows environments.
• Build and modify Automic interfaces using XML; import/export configurations into the system.
• Apply patches and upgrades to the Automic engine and interface versions.
• Extract jobs from existing Automic environments and reconfigure/import them into new systems.
• Manage Automic user and user group permissions.
• Handle Automic scripting and certificate management.
• Troubleshoot issues such as license problems, LDAP sync, unknown job failures, and agent downtimes.
• Provide proactive solutions and ongoing support for the UC4 system.
• Perform database-related tasks such as indexing, stored procedures, deadlock, and session handling.
• Apply knowledge of ILM partitioning to optimize performance.
• Ensure smooth execution of export/import/transport processes in Automic environments.

• Technical Skills:

  • UC4/Automic platform experience (versions V12, V21).
  • Experience with Automic application and agent installation.
  • Automic Web Interface (AWI) deployment and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of XML-based Automic interface builds.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Linux, and Windows systems.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL: stored procedures, indexing, session management.
  • ILM partitioning experience.
  • Automic scripting and certificate management expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with transport cases, licensing, LDAP, and patching Automic.

  Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work proactively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Capable of handling complex issues in a high-pressure environment.

  Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience working with UC4/Automic in hybrid or enterprise environments.
  • Strong track record in UC4 platform deployment, maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Relevant certifications in Automic or related automation/scheduling tools are a plus.
