The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for establishing and operating a structured, process driven service that enables effective research lab operations. The role ensures research concepts transition predictably and efficiently from idea to execution through strong feasibility planning, capacity management, and quality enablement. The TPM acts as the single orchestration point across researchers, lab operations, SMEs, and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Feasibility & Scenario Planning
- Translate research ideas into clear, executable lab scenarios
- Coordinate feasibility inputs across:
- Hardware availability and readiness
- Programming and system configuration
- CAD model review (where applicable)
- Ensure all documentation and readiness criteria are in place before lab execution
- Partner with feasibility SMEs to validate technical and operational viability
- Own weekly capacity planning and review cadence
- Track planned vs. actual delivery and manage variances
- Maintain a 2–3 weeks forward capacity view for data collection and evaluation
- Balance lab capacity against changing research priorities
- Identify bottlenecks, over‑commitments, and risks early
- Introduce structured quality reporting and insights
- Lead root cause analysis and targeted process improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role
