Currently migrating its Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud. We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Consultant / Subject Matter Expert to support and contribute to this transition. The role combines strong Jira and Confluence administration skills with hands-on experience delivering Data Center to Atlassian Cloud migrations.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end migrations of Jira, JSM, and Confluence from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud, including discovery, assessment, planning, test migrations, cutover, and post-migration support.
- Assess existing Jira, JSM, and Confluence implementations and design cloud-ready solutions covering workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions, dashboards, and reports.
- Re-implement existing ScriptRunner/Groovy-based business logic using Atlassian Cloud–native capabilities (e.g. Automation, workflow functions, Jira Plans/Advanced Roadmaps) and appropriate Marketplace apps.
- Plan and execute migrations of key Marketplace apps and their data (e.g. Assets & Inventory, EazyBI, ScriptRunner, Custom Charts, Projectrak, Structure, Tempo, Zephyr) to Atlassian Cloud offerings, working with vendors where required.
- Configure and administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence on both Data Center and Atlassian Cloud.
- Design, implement, and maintain user management and SSO integrations with enterprise identity providers (SAML/SCIM, Azure AD).
- Build and support integrations using Jira and Confluence REST APIs and webhooks for automation and data synchronisation.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and promote Agile and ITSM best practices within Jira and JSM.
- Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and handover materials, and provide training and mentoring to internal teams.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong, hands-on administration experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence on both Data Center/Server and Atlassian Cloud.
- Proven experience delivering Jira and Confluence migrations from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud.
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Guard.
- Solid Groovy scripting experience using ScriptRunner (listeners, scripted fields, workflow post-functions, and admin utilities).
- Strong scripting and integration experience using Jira and Confluence REST APIs (Data Center and Cloud).
- Practical experience with key Marketplace apps such as Assets & Inventory, EazyBI, ScriptRunner, Custom Charts, Projectrak, Structure, Tempo, Zephyr, and Jira Plans (or equivalent tools).
- Strong understanding of user management, SSO, and Active Directory integration.
- Good understanding of Agile and ITSM/ITIL processes and how they are implemented in Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience leading or contributing to a large, complex Atlassian Cloud migration, ideally within a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience working in consulting or Atlassian Partner environments, delivering Atlassian cloud migration for multiple clients.
- Relevant Atlassian certifications.
