PE Associate
The primary responsibility is research and monitor existing and prospect investments. This includes: conducting research on the market opportunity set, mapping relevant themes, creating and monitoring peer groups, help with the benchmarking. As a member of a small team, the PE associate additionally shares in routine tasks to monitor portfolio market values, and to prepare reports for the Investment Committee. Business travel required.
Existing Manager Monitoring (30%)
- Gather and maintain a thorough understanding of the invested funds.
- Conduct any further due diligence required.
- Monitor every invested fund.
- Regular written update of tracking reports, including the periodic reviews of opinion with respect to the manager.
- Help in the updating of the investment memorandum, reviews and bench marking reports and peer group analysis.
Prospective Manager Due-Diligence (40%)
- Contribute to generating new investment opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with a network.
- Screening prospective managers for further research.
- Scheduling due diligence meetings and responding to incoming meeting requests.
- Conduct further due diligence on prospective managers including:
- Collecting information about the manager’s team, process, and strategy, and constructing the data into useful records.
- Analysing track record of past investments.
- Planning and conducting meetings.
- Assessing research observations and conclusions.
- Contribute to the definition of the appropriate benchmarks and peer groups.
- Compare and contrast managers’ investment universe strategies and organizations, including strengths and weaknesses.
- Write new manager Investment Memos.
Co-investments due diligence (5-10%)
- Contribute to and generate new investment opportunities in overlap with existing managers.
- Collecting information about the investment opportunity, its management team, customers, competitors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Reviewing whatever data available on the co-investment, and considering fit
- Write co-Investment Memos, or termination reports.
General Market Research & Portfolio Risk (10%)
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of current investment markets.
- Prepare and present regular analyses on performance and on the risk profile
- Attend and participate in Investment Committee meetings. Draft Investment Committee meeting minutes.
