This hire will be expected to be in the office five days a week. We are looking to hire two analytical and detail-oriented Investment Associates to join our London-based team. The successful candidates will support data-driven investment decision making by enhancing analytical tools and refining investment insights.
- We anticipate one hire having a network working with or within the multi PM's and being able to source candidates for a multi-strat platform.
- The second hire will have relevant analytical skills and experience analysing track records and risks for portfolio managers across asset classes.
This role is ideal for candidates with a network of candidate portfolio managers and analysts within the multi-strategy platform universe, strong quantitative background, keen attention to detail, and an interest in the hedge fund space. Experience with Excel, VBA, and Python is highly desirable. The position offers hands-on exposure to an advanced investment framework, with opportunities to develop expertise in portfolio analytics and fund research.
ResponsibilitiesThe Investment Associate will play a key role supporting hedge fund monitoring, investment analysis, and process automation. The role involves quantitative research, portfolio analysis, and reporting.
- Hedge Fund Performance Monitoring & Research (35%)
- Source candidates for multi-strategy platform equity l/s strategy and also hedge fund portfolios.
- Collect and maintain hedge fund performance data from live PnL and positioning data, factsheets, investor statements, direct communication with managers, and the Bloomberg Terminal.
- Utilise portfolio management software tools and Bloomberg Terminal to construct and update hedge fund portfolios and to gather fund and index-related data.
- Conduct return decomposition analysis and assess correlation between prospective investments in relation to the portfolio.
- Prepare and present formal evaluation reports for both prospective and existing managers.
- Process Automation & Data Management (35%)
- Develop and refine Excel-based tools to automate investment calculations and reporting efficiency.
- Maintain and update the firm's internal repositories, ensuring accuracy and completeness of hedge fund related information (e.g., AUM, exposures, strategy details, contributions, and more).
- Market Research & Investment Analysis (20%)
- Attend industry conferences, manager calls, webinars, and industry events to gather insights.
- Summarise and present key takeaways to the investment team on a weekly basis.
- Research new investment opportunities and assess their potential fit within the firm's portfolio.
- Compare manager strategies and organisational structures, defining appropriate benchmarks and peer groups for performance evaluation.
- General Operations & Investment Process Support (10%)
- Support senior investment team in enhancing research methodologies.
- Perform due diligence on potential investments, including manager screening, data room reviews, and maintenance of the buy, watch lists.
