Regional Health and Safety Advisor – North London / Northern Home Counties Coverage
Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
D7 Recruitment specialises in QHSE related staffing. We are supporting a growing Health and Safety Consultancy in the South East as they seek to strengthen their remote team for projects across North London, West London and the Northern Home Counties.
We are looking for a new Advisor to support their growing workload. We are open to either Full time or Part time candidates who can provide on site guidance to a range of construction programmes, ranging from domestic new builds to commercial fit outs.
The Role is Site Based, covering for our Members/Clients, undertaking site inspections on their behalf to ensure that the sites remain compliant with current CDM and Building Regulations. It will require driving / travelling to the various sites, managing your own workload.
Responsibilities
- Fulfil the Safety Advisor role by planning and carrying out inspections of construction sites in order to prepare reports and provide practical solutions with advice to site management within designated regions.
- Maintain a suitable level of knowledge on statutory requirements and 'best practice' in matters of health and safety and in particular, as relevant to the construction industry.
- To maintain the standards of service as set out in the EB Safety Group Procedures and providing reports by making correct use of computers and information technology as made available.
- To provide regular communications to the Managing Safety Advisor in respect of developments within the Safety Group membership.
- To attend Safety Group member safety meetings and other meetings as requested.
- To investigate major accidents when necessary and requested by the member company.
- To provide advice and information over the phone and by email at the request of members.
- To conduct inspections of members' offices/yards/workshops.
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving license
- Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) - Cert - Grad or Tech IOSH minimum
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certificate
Experience
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
- Proven experience on construction sites including residential, commercial, or civil engineering projects
- Experience conducting risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Experience with site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Knowledge of HSE legislation and construction regulations (CDM 2015, HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, etc.)
