We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Location: SL6 2LA.

Working Week: Tuesday 9:00–13:00; Wednesday to Friday 9:00–18:00 (including 1 hour break); Saturday 9:00–13:00.

Responsibilities:

  • Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
  • Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
  • Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
  • Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and confidentiality.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSEs at A–C or 4–9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
  • For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided: Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Apprenticeship Details: Apprenticeship: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship. Duration: typically 15 months. Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning. Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours. No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
