The Opportunity
Based in D3O’s Head Office in Croydon, this position will see you provide a range of Quality and Testing initiatives that contribute towards the company’s extensive R&D pipeline. Reporting to the company’s Head of Quality & Testing, you will co-ordinate and complete testing activities as well as assisting D3O’s mission to ensure category leading product quality. Working closely with cross-functional teams that include Product Development, Material Development, Production QC, Sales and Marketing, this is a fantastic opportunity for a diligent and ambitious Engineer with an appetite for growth.
What You’ll Do
- Provide Quality & Testing support and expertise to cross functional development teams to ensure that products and materials are developed and tested to meet briefs, as well as maintaining manufacturability and achieve cost targets.
- Work with external testing partners and equipment suppliers as required, including supporting EU/UKCA Certification of D3O Products.
- Assisting in projects to drive waste reduction, improve process or manufacturing efficiency, or cost reduction.
- Creation and completion of First Article Approval (FAA) test plans and documentation upon completion of first off production batches.
- Providing technical and testing support within R&D teams, researching new markets, and testing novel concepts.
- Development of test methodologies for assessing new materials, manufacturing techniques or product concepts.
- Ensure all test lab equipment is maintained in operational condition and has regular maintenance and consistency checks as required.
- Maintain all test records and databases.
- Creation of internal and external facing test reports.
- Compilation and verification of visual standard, product specification and other quality control documentation for product groups as required.
- Support the Quality & Testing team in dealing with customers and suppliers on all quality concerns.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 years of experience within a Research & Development, Product Development or Engineering setting.
- University educated (with relevant Engineering focused degree) - proven job knowledge or relevant experience will also be considered for strong candidate.
- Strong engineering and technical knowledge, including development of test rigs / fixtures, use of Standards.
- Knowledge of impact or vibration absorption mechanics desirable.
- Highly organized and efficient in time management.
- Ability to perform well without close supervision.
- Willingness to get the job done and work in a fast paced and expanding business.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to suppliers and customers, where required.
- Fluent English, strong written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Process driven.
- Team player.
