Jang & Engel is looking for an exceptional Head Receptionist to join our Front of House leadership team at our vibrant restaurant & bar, located in the Mezzanine of the iconic Royal Exchange. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, guest-focused Head Receptionist to play a key role in shaping the guest journey, leading the reception team, and delivering flawless hospitality in a fast-paced, high-end environment.

Pay rate: up to £16.77 per hour
40-hour contract
Monday to Saturday schedule
The Role
As Head Receptionist, you will oversee the daily operation of the reception desk and reservations, acting as the first point of contact for our guests. This is a leadership-focused, hands-on role, ensuring exceptional standards of service, smooth communication between teams, and a warm, professional welcome at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar reception or host role within a restaurant
- Excellent phone etiquette, polished presentation, and professional manner
- A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Strong communication, organisation, and multitasking skills
- A proactive, motivated team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Confident problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
- Familiarity with the 7Rooms reservation system is a bonus (but not essential)
- Legal right to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the reception team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Deliver a warm, professional, and consistent welcome to all guests
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and guest enquiries efficiently
