We have developed a comprehensive suite of programme management services while supporting clients on some of the most complex infrastructure projects in the UK and Canada. Overview of Role:

As part of D2’s continued growth and success including recent wins on some major long-term frameworks, we are currently looking for passionate Project Managers who love to add value to join our Programme Management Team. Those who join our team will support and deliver some of the biggest railway projects and programmes across the North of England including York, Leeds and Manchester. We are specifically looking for experienced Project Managers at the level of Scheme Project Manager (SPM) and Project Manager (PM) with good knowledge and application of project management. You will be responsible for working independently or part of a wider team delivering projects from early design and development to construction and hand-back in accordance with agreed scope, timescales, and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently project manage at least one limited-complexity work package and/or project in accordance with the sector’s project management lifecycle and governance requirements from early design and development to construction and hand-back.
  • Manage the delivery of projects in accordance with agreed/contracted scope, timescales, budget.
  • Ensure that the project(s) has all the necessary consents in place to meet delivery timescales including identifying opportunities to gain efficiencies.
  • Support with the planning and implementation of mitigating project issues. Ensure these are recorded in the project Issue Register.

Requirements:

  • Successful experience of independently project managing projects within the rail sector in accordance with PACE project management lifecycle and governance requirements.
  • Experience in project managing diverse multi-disciplined teams including but not limited to: design, environmental, consents, commercial, procurement, estimating, programme controls, engineering, survey, construction, health and safety; and others to identify and deliver solutions to meet the client requirements.
  • Team manager capable of managing and working within a team.
  • Minimum 4 years experience within Project Manager.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Contract and commercial knowledge and experience.
  • Risk and issue management knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of managing and applying Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations and industry practices such as HS&WA 1974 and Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
  • Attained a minimum of the Association for Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in other sectors outside of rail such as nuclear energy, and utilities power and distribution.
  • NEC 4 Project Management experience / accreditation.
  • Educated to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant subject or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of railway disciplines including but not limited to: track, signalling & telecommunications (S&T), civils, electrical and plant (E&P) and Overhead Line Equipment (OLE).
