Overview of Role: This senior role requires a good team player with strong planning and scheduling, project controls, risk management and performance management/reporting experience to lead our Programme Performance service in London and the South market. This role reports directly into our Programme Performance Director and the wider D2 team. As a subject matter expert, you will be able to lead the delivery of projects, being an assured and confident D2 advisor to clients. Leading our service in the South, you will be responsible for communicating with project clients and stakeholders to understand their challenges, establish requirements, propose solutions and provide consistent quality of service. You will provide leadership to the South Programme Performance team, maintaining strong links to our Programme Performance Service Director, supporting professional development of junior/intermediate professionals through the D2 training academy and competency framework. With opportunities in the transport (rail, local transport, aviation, highways), infrastructure (energy, utilities, defence and technology) and wider into the TSA Riley business, this role will have the opportunity to support on business development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to interface with technical specialists and constructively challenge their knowledge and understanding to provide solutions to clients.
- Strong communication and articulation skills, being able to confidently guide Exec/Seniors through schedules and performance against baseline, while proactively identifying acceleration or saving opportunities to better enable successful project delivery.
- Ability to interpret client requirements and provide sound advice for the application of schedule, cost, risk, project controls and reporting solutions.
- Lead production of deliverable schedule baselines based on industry standard approaches to schedule development e.g. DCMA14.
- Lead production of integrated Programme Performance processes and reporting dashboards that align scope, risk and change data with cost, schedule and benefits data to support better informed decision making.
- Keep informed on the latest advancements and applications of Programme Performance tools e.g. Nodes and Links, nPlan, Acumen Fuse, Power BI, etc.
Business management responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Support business with budgeting, forecasting and invoicing for the Programme Performance service ultimately contributing to the D2 business plan.
- Work with the Programme Performance Director to ensure clear professional development plans are in place for in-country Programme Performance resource.
- Lead recruitment activity for South based Programme Performance resource, making proposals to grow the team based on client requirements.
Work winning responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Identify and work with the D2 leadership to represent D2 at business development/networking events.
- Provide input to and potentially lead tender/proposals to clients.
- Support development of the business planning process.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in programme performance, project controls, planning and scheduling, and risk management on large, complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard scheduling methodologies and the ability to develop robust schedule baselines.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and manage integrated programme performance frameworks, linking schedule, cost, risk, change, and benefits.
- Proficiency with key programme performance and project controls tools, such as Nodes.
