Overview of Role
We are looking for experienced Planning professionals at mid to senior levels to join our team on a permanent basis, contributing to high-profile infrastructure projects across Manchester and Leeds.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the planning team to integrate schedules and prepare clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
- Simplify complex project programmes into accessible reporting formats for decision‑makers.
- Develop fully resource‑loaded programmes using industry‑standard software (e.g., Primavera P6), from first principles through all project lifecycle stages.
- Monitor progress, performance, and productivity against the baseline schedule, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
- Deliver schedule analysis including adherence tracking, critical path reviews, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Produce periodic variance analyses and reports to support baseline maintenance and programme governance.
- Collaborate with delivery partners, stakeholders, and internal teams to assure schedule quality, identify risks, manage dependencies, and address key interfaces.
- Mentor and support junior planning staff, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
- Ensure schedules are developed, managed, and maintained effectively to meet project requirements and milestones.
- Promote innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence to deliver time‑efficient, high‑quality schedule outputs and reports.
- Build and maintain long lasting client relationships, providing “best in class” service, while upholding our core values of Trust, People, Integrity, and Innovation.
Requirements
- Member of a relevant professional body with chartered status (or working towards this) and/or educated to degree level.
- Ability to communicate the programme to stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience of schedule integration on large multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of/experience in UK infrastructure projects.
- Experience of NEC contracts.
- Experience of using Primavera P6 and PowerBI.
- Relevant experience in the successful scheduling of engineering projects.
- Knowledge of railway investment planning systems.
- Experience of using a number of project management scheduling tools & techniques.
- Knowledge of schedule assurance processes.
