We are seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to join our Customer Success team. In this role you will focus on delivering applications for our customers, developing industry-leading applications running on D-Wave’s advanced quantum systems. This position will give you the opportunity to learn about D-Wave’s application environment and work with internal teams and customers to build applications for market launch. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading customers and cutting-edge quantum computing technology.

What you'll do

  • Develop algorithms to solve complex problems while building applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools.
  • Implement and optimize the performance/own the code base of Commercial quantum applications, primarily in Python.
  • Build out custom applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions.
  • Become an expert on a variety of our professional services offerings such as our cloud service (LEAP) and open-sourced software tools (Ocean).
  • Help to solve real-world, challenging problems that have a direct impact on our commercial customers' business success.

About You

  • 5+ years professional experience with Python. Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum BSc in Computer Science or related technical field preferred. Masters or PhD a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of probability, statistics and/or math.
  • Experience with version control software such as Git.
  • Experience implementing complex algorithms.
  • Experience building open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in approaching new problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-art code.
