We’re looking for a technically minded Specification Technologist to manage product specifications, supplier approvals, regulatory compliance, and product launches in a hands-on, hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain product specifications
- Ensure compliance with UK, EU, and US food safety, allergen, nutritional, and labelling regulations
- Manage specification-to-launch processes and resolve technical issues
- Act as technical contact for suppliers, customers, and internal teams
- Maintain documentation, raw material approvals, packaging, and Hamilton Grant recipe/spec systems
- Support shelf-life testing, QA, and audits including BRC
Requirements:
- Level 3 Food Hygiene or above
- Knowledge of food science, manufacturing, and packaging
- Attention to detail, strong numeracy and literacy
- Project management, IT, and analytical skills
- Experience with labelling, nutritional/allergen info, and regulatory compliance
- Confident communicator
Working Pattern:
- 2–3 days on-site, flexible hybrid options
- 4 long days/week or 4 standard days + early finish Friday (12pm)
