Job Description

Job Title: Senior Product Developer

📍 Location: Essex

🕐 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

💰 Salary: up to £43,000

🚨 Full UK driving license required

✨ Reporting to: NPD Manager

I am partnering with a brilliant business who are looking for a skilled Senior Product Developer to lead the charge on exciting NPD and product improvement projects. The business is going through an exciting period of growth and there is huge potential for this person to evolve with the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the full NPD/EPD process — from concept development to launch
  • Turn consumer insights and market trends into game-changing products
  • Act as the lead developer and customer-facing expert on key projects
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Technical, and Supply Chain teams
  • Run factory trials and ensure products are scalable, cost-effective, and high quality
  • Assess and source raw materials and new suppliers
  • Mentor junior team members and champion best practices across the team

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in food NPD (snacking, ambient, or similar categories ideal)
  • A degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
  • Strong project management and innovation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Technical understanding of ingredients, processes, and packaging
  • A passion for food, trends, and pushing boundaries

  • Commercially aware and quality-driven
  • Comfortable with occasional travel for customer meetings and launches
