UK Sales Manager – Food & Nutrition

About the Role
A leading company in distribution is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their Food & Nutrition division. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing sales team, develop and implement growth strategies, and drive revenue in the UK market. The position is remote, with regular travel required to the Head Office and across the UK.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the sales team, nurturing key customer relationships, and ensuring the continued growth and success of the Food & Nutrition business. This position requires a leader who can drive results while adapting to an evolving market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, enhancing market penetration and overall growth in the Food & Nutrition sector.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the sales team, providing training, guidance, and support to help them meet individual and collective goals.
- Forecasting & Goal Setting: Define and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, using data and market trends to forecast sales outcomes accurately.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Regularly monitor industry trends and competitor activities to refine sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure sales strategies align with the company’s broader objectives.
- Sales Reporting: Prepare and present detailed performance reports to senior management, analysing key metrics and ensuring the team consistently meets KPIs.
- Process Optimisation: Continually evaluate and improve sales processes to enhance team efficiency and drive results.
- Budget Management: Manage the sales budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve optimal results.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Senior Commercial Experience: Extensive experience in a senior commercial role, within the Nutrition or Food sector, is essential.
- Education: A degree in Nutrition or a related field is highly desirable.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including experience working within a matrix structure and balancing strategic and tactical decision-making.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the food industry, distribution channels, and senior commercial operations.
