We are proud to be working on an exclusive retained basis with a leading Pet Food Manufacturer seeking an experienced Regional Account Manager. This is a key commercial role, responsible for driving sales growth within your designated regions while supporting the Senior Sales Team in developing and managing major key accounts. Region responsibility - Scotland, North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while maximising sales from existing accounts within your region.
- Drive revenue through account growth, new business development, and exceptional customer relationship management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key influencers and decision-makers within the territory.
- Ensure wide distribution of the existing product range and successful introduction of new product development (NPD).
- Provide timely and detailed call reports to the Head of Sales, including updates on new business wins, line extensions, and lost sales with root cause analysis.
- Monitor competitor activity, including product launches, promotions, and pricing, and share market intelligence with the broader team.
- Report monthly on regional sales performance, highlighting key wins, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
- Attend and represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales to establish and deliver against sales targets and budgets for your region.
- Support the Senior Sales Team on strategic account development, including attending meetings and executing follow-up actions.
- Provide occasional administrative assistance to members of the Senior Sales Team as needed.
- Conduct regular, structured visits to all garden centres and pet retail outlets within your territory, with a clear journey plan in place.
- Place special focus on key accounts within Garden Centre Groups, ensuring regular engagement and support.
- Maintain a strong field presence, working in territory at least four days per week, with dedicated office time allocated for administrative duties and customer communications.
- Proactively pursue new account development and re-engage underperforming or lapsed accounts.

- Proven experience in field sales, specifically within the garden centre and pet trade (essential).
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue through strategic account development and winning new business.
- Strong local network and industry contacts within the pet and garden retail sector.
- Ability to manage relationships with key regional accounts, providing tailored support and commercial advice.
- Confident in delivering quotes, negotiating pricing, and supporting customers with product knowledge and category insights.
- Skilled in creating and executing effective territory plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Capable of working autonomously, managing your own time and priorities effectively.
