Job Title: Logistics Officer

Location: Staffordshire

Are you an experienced Logistics professional who is looking to join a growing privately owned business in Staffordshire?

The Logistics Officer will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and timely movement of goods from factory to distribution centres across the globe.

This key role requires expertise in managing transit documentation, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring goods are inspected, cleared, and delivered on time and in perfect condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and take responsibility for ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of goods from the factory to the distribution centre.
• Manage forward agents and handle transit documentation with high daily diligence.
• Maintain strong communication with the finance team regarding pricing, invoices, and logistics charges.
• Ensure that goods meet quality standards upon arrival, matching the condition they left the factory in.
• Oversee prompt and efficient clearance of goods at ports of entry worldwide.
• Serve as the lead communicator for all logistics-related matters between the supply chain team, sales teams, and customers globally.
• Create and manage commercial invoices and packing lists for international customers.
• Keep trade agreements up to date.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient in Excel with the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
• Experienced with ERP systems and purchase systems.
• Knowledge of customs documentation required for efficient product clearance to final distribution points.
• Detail-oriented, diligent, and results-driven personality.
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Enjoys collaborating within a team-oriented environment.
• Proven experience in a similar logistics role, especially with factory supply chains, freight forwarders, and logistics suppliers.
