This is a brilliant opportunity to join a fast-growing, London-based solar developer focused on behind-the-meter commercial rooftop projects. As HSE Manager, you’ll take full ownership of Health, Safety, and Environmental practices across the business—both in the office and out on site. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external contractors to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing solar installations. This is a key leadership position with direct visibility at board level, responsible for driving best practice and ensuring a culture of safety excellence throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all HSE operations across the company, from corporate compliance to live site activities.
  • Deliver and manage training programmes for staff and contractors, ensuring everyone is equipped with the latest safety practices and qualifications.
  • Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.
  • Develop and maintain company-wide HSE systems, documentation, and incident reporting procedures.
  • Present HSE performance reports and updates directly to the senior leadership team and board.
  • Stay on top of evolving regulations and industry standards, ensuring continuous improvement in safety systems and culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven HSE experience within the solar industry, ideally focused on commercial rooftop or behind-the-meter projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK H&S regulations, CDM, and risk management in a construction or renewable energy setting.
  • Confident communicator and trainer, able to engage and influence internal teams and subcontractors alike.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification is essential.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on, proactive approach.
