Reporting to: Head of Technical

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join a large, fast-paced food manufacturing site in Devon. You’ll lead the site’s Quality teams, with direct reports including the Quality Manager and Quality Systems Manager, and oversight of the wider QA function.

The Role

  • Managing NPD projects from factory trial through to launch.
  • Ensuring new production lines meet all technical, quality and compliance requirements.
  • Making decisions on out of specification stock, including release, rework or rejection.
  • Leading investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Driving food safety, quality and technical standards across the site.
  • Working closely with Production, NPD and other key stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for an established Technical Manager with extensive food manufacturing experience. You’ll ideally have around 5 years’ experience at Technical Manager level, strong leadership experience and a proven understanding of retailer requirements, food safety and quality systems. This is not a step-up opportunity; previous Technical Manager experience is essential. You’ll need to be confident operating in a large, busy factory and able to hit the ground running.

Products are supplied to major retailers including M&S, Tesco, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Aldi and Asda.

If you’re an experienced Technical Manager looking for a senior role within a busy, high-care food manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.
