A specialist food manufacturer based in Somerset is seeking a Category Analyst to join its growing team. This is a remote role, offering an exciting opportunity to work with major UK supermarket retailers while benefiting from in-depth training and career progression. The Role
Reporting to the Category Manager, the Category Analyst will play a key role in driving category performance. The successful candidate will analyse EPOS data and shopper insight tools such as Kantar, IRI, or Nielsen to identify opportunities for growth. They will work closely with retail partners, providing data-driven recommendations on range, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret EPOS, Kantar, IRI, or Nielsen data to generate actionable insights.
- Develop category strategies that drive performance with supermarket retailers.
- Collaborate with the Category Manager to deliver best-in-class recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with retail partners, influencing decisions through data-led insights.
- Monitor shopper trends, competitor activity, and market performance to identify new opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and NPD teams to maximise commercial success.
- A unique part of this role will be Demand Planning, which can be taught and will take up roughly 1 day a month of your time.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with FMCG products, preferably in food or drink.
- A strong understanding of EPOS data and shopper insight tools (Kantar, IRI, Nielsen, or similar).
- Commercial awareness with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
