A well-established and highly regarded engineering firm in the South West is seeking a skilled and time-served Mechanical Fitter to join their team, supporting the build and assembly of bespoke special-purpose machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical assembly of machinery and sub-assemblies to engineering drawings

Installation of bearings, gears, taper lock pulleys, and other precision components

Running pneumatic and hydraulic pipework

Use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment to complete builds to high standards

Conducting quality checks and ensuring all work meets specifications

Collaborating with engineers and fitters to troubleshoot and optimise builds

Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment
Candidate Profile:

Fully time-served Mechanical Fitter or Engineer

Holds a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical and assembly drawings

Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems

Competent with a range of hand tools and power tools

Machine shop or light fabrication experience is a plus
