Overview

As a commercially driven Key Account Manager, you will own major UK retail relationships and drive profitable growth across pricing, margin, forecasts and NPD. You will collaborate across Production, Planning, Technical, Supply Chain, Finance and NPD to deliver commercial outcomes for top retailers and contribute to a major NPD pipeline. This is a growth-focused, high-impact role with exposure to the Commercial Director and significant opportunity to shape pricing and customer strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop major UK retail accounts
  • Drive revenue, volume and margin growth
  • Lead pricing reviews and commercial negotiations
  • Identify opportunities to increase distribution and category penetration
  • Develop and execute customer account plans
  • Support tenders, quotations and commercial proposals
  • Manage account profitability and margin improvements
  • Work with NPD on a large pipeline of new product launches
  • Translate customer briefs into development and launches
  • Manage customer forecasts and volume projections
  • Support S&OP and broader commercial planning
  • Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders

Key requirements

  • Major retail account management experience (ideally top 4 grocery)
  • Strong pricing and negotiation capability
  • Evidence of delivering profitable sales growth
  • Margin and commercial ownership
  • NPD and product launch experience
  • Forecasting and commercial planning
  • Strong customer relationship management
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in poultry, meat, chilled or wider food manufacturing would be highly relevant
  • Retailer own-label, high-volume manufacturing and major grocery experience would be valuable
