We are recruiting for a Technical Manager to join an established food manufacturing business in Central Scotland.

This is a key site leadership position with responsibility for driving food safety, quality, legality and technical standards across the manufacturing operation.

Working closely with the site leadership team, you will be the senior technical presence on site, leading the day-to-day technical agenda and ensuring consistently high standards across the factory.

This would suit an experienced Technical Manager, Quality Manager or senior technical professional who has worked within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and is comfortable leading audits, managing customer relationships and working closely with Operations.

The Role

  • Leading the site technical agenda and working closely with Operations to maintain high standards of food safety, quality and legality.
  • Acting as HACCP Team Leader and ensuring robust food safety controls are maintained across the manufacturing operation.
  • Leading and coordinating external audits, customer visits and technical inspections.
  • Maintaining site audit readiness and ensuring non-conformances and corrective actions are effectively closed out.
  • Acting as a key technical contact for customers and external audit bodies.
  • Driving day-to-day factory technical standards including GMP, foreign body controls, and general manufacturing standards.
  • Managing internal audit, verification and traceability programmes.
  • Leading investigations into significant complaints, incidents, product holds and withdrawals, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Overseeing sampling, testing and environmental monitoring programmes.
  • Manage the site Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, retailer requirements and reporting targets.
  • Supporting new product launches and ensuring appropriate process controls are established and maintained.
  • Driving the site's food safety and quality culture, working closely with colleagues across Technical and Operations.
