About The Business

Our business started over 60 years ago and has been in the same family ever since. From our very humble beginnings, we have grown to be in the top 50 car dealers in the country. Across our 26 businesses we have a stable workforce of over 600 people, many of whom have been with us for years. We are always on the lookout for nice, genuine people who genuinely care about our customers and have a can-do attitude. Our recruitment philosophy is that we recruit for attitude and train for skills, which means that although we’re often looking for specific technical skills, if you like working with customers and you are attracted by our Family Values of Fit, Fun, Family and Fearless, you’ll fit in well here and we’d like to hear from you even if you have no experience of the automotive industry. We’ll expect you to work hard but in return we’ll offer you real opportunity to progress: we prefer to promote from within and you will see this in every one of our sites. You must possess an outrageous ambition to want to be the best and you won’t let anyone stop you.

About The Role

This role will be supporting both the Recruitment and HR function within our team, with a primary focus on recruitment. You will be expected to provide an outstanding candidate journey and support a smooth transition for candidates right through to the onboarding stage. The successful candidate will place adverts internally and externally, screen applicants, facilitate video interviews where relevant and liaise with management across the board, all the way to Director level, to coordinate interviews across Group. The ideal candidate will be able to assess applicants for the soft and hard skills required for a plethora of roles across Group, aligning them with our company culture and values. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a keen eye for spotting potential within our applicants and demonstrate a strong sense of organisation, as the role will require you to oversee a number of roles and responsibilities at one time. Alongside recruitment duties, the successful candidate will support our HR function, assisting with a variety of administrative duties such as reference checks, DBS checks, monitoring the HR inbox and providing support across Group for our People Management system. You will also be expected to turn your hand to a variety of Ad-Hoc HR duties as and when required. The chosen candidate for this role will have outstanding people skills, demonstrating the ability to build rapport quickly with a wide variety of people. We’re also looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a desire to learn and grow, and a drive to help the wider team and support the business throughout its journey.
