We are a small consulting agency for energy real property issues with a focus on international mineral rights, especially in the State of Texas.

Job Duties

  • Negotiate, draft, and manage oil, gas, and mineral leases, joint operating agreements, and related commercial contracts.
  • Conduct title review, due diligence, and risk assessments on mineral and surface rights.
  • Provide strategic advice on land acquisition, licensing, and permitting, ensuring compliance with local regulations (UK, EU, and international).
  • Collaborate with legal, commercial, and operations teams to structure agreements that balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
  • Liaise with government agencies, regulators, landowners, and external counsel to resolve land-related issues.
  • Oversee the integration of U.S. practices (where applicable) into the UK/European legal framework.
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties in the UK and internationally, ensuring effective commercial outcomes.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, licensing, and regulatory frameworks in the UK or comparable jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex land and legal issues at a senior level.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

Preferred but NOT essential

  • Direct experience with U.S. petroleum landwork law, particularly in Texas (oil & gas leasing, mineral title, pooling, and unitisation).
  • Familiarity with North American E&P practices and ability to contextualise them for UK/European operations.
