The D.E.Shaw group seeks a proactive, detail-oriented legal analyst and Contract Negotiator to join its Legal & Compliance team. This individual will collaborate closely with attorneys, supporting a variety of investment transactions and related matters. The role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous, and collaborative environment.
What you’ll do day-to-day
Assist with the execution of investment transactions with a focus on reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining various contractual agreements, including confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements and engagement letters.
Work directly with Legal & Compliance and front office teams in London and collaborate with colleagues in the U.S. and Asia to support a broad range of deal-related activities.
Support project-based work relating to the firm's investment process infrastructure and periodically assist with regulatory and compliance matters that arise in connection with the D.E.Shaw group’s activities in Europe.
What we’re looking for
A bachelor's degree, along with a demonstrated record of professional and/or academic achievement.
Two to four years of work experience and an interest in learning about complex investment transactions and the attendant legal and commercial risks.
Excellent organizational and analytical abilities; proven editing, proofreading, and project management skills; and keen attention to detail.
Experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in contract review at a law firm is preferred; formal legal experience is not required.
