D. C. Merrett & Co Ltd is a family-run business based just south of Gloucester. For over 30 years, we’ve specialised in abnormal load heavy haulage, wastewater logistics, and commercial engineering. We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Engineer to join our skilled workshop team of 4–5 engineers. The role will involve a mix of workshop and off-site work, including call-outs and breakdowns, so flexibility is key. A company van will be provided for off-site jobs.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical faults quickly and effectively
  • Maintain vehicles to the highest standards to support our day-to-day operations
  • Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Keep the workshop environment safe, clean, and organised

What we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above (or equivalent qualification)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of a range of commercial lorries
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic
