  • Maintain and broaden professional relationships with HCPs (Physicians, Specialist Nurses, Echocardiologists, Genetic Counsellors, Pharmacists and other relevant members of the multi-disciplinary team) in institutional care centers, to expand research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities; identify areas of unmet medical need; and assure thoughtful exchange of current medical information related to products in development and therapeutic areas of importance.
  • Serve as a scientific expert at key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, internal meetings, and patient advocacy group meetings.
  • Maintain a high level of scientific knowledge and understanding about disease state, underlying science, treatment guidelines, available treatment agents and options, as well as other relevant therapies under development.
  • Maintain a superior understanding of current trends in clinical research, competitive developments, patient care, and their impact on Cytokinetics’ medical strategies.
  • Work with Medical Affairs and other internal colleagues on initiatives including medical information, publications, medical education, grants, speaker training, and other educational programs.
  • Provide support to our clinical development programs by serving as a key point of contact for company-sponsored trial investigators, investigator-initiated research, and registries consistent with company objectives and regulations.
  • Generate Field Medical Affairs plans to identify collaborative opportunities with KOLs and institutions, review scientific program of relevant conferences, attend sessions, support exhibit booth operations, and contribute to a timely written conference report summarising key information, activities, and competitive intelligence to colleagues.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of activities within applicable company databases and platforms.
  • Mentor, train and support other Medical Scientists.
  • Provide scientific training on key relevant data to Key Account Managers and other business colleagues as required.

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (BSc, MSc, BPharm, MPharm, PhD, BM BS or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of MSL experience for Snr. MSL. Cardiovascular therapy area experience is strongly preferred, with direct experience in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy considered a significant advantage. Experience in heart failure is beneficial.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across field, internal, and congress activities is essential.
  • Must communicate with clarity and precision; able to distil complex scientific data into concise, high-impact exchanges with busy clinicians.
  • Comfortable operating in time-constrained clinical environments where brevity is valued as much as depth.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders and all internal levels of the organisation.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, non-hierarchical team environment; equally comfortable contributing ideas and executing as a core team member.
  • A genuine team player who recognises shared success as the measure of performance.
  • Brings authentic enthusiasm for novel mechanisms of action and first-in-class therapies; able to translate scientific excitement into compelling scientific exchange with HCPs and internal stakeholders.
