The Warehouse Materials Manager is responsible for end-to-end performance of a defined warehouse, using Lean principles to improve flow, cost, quality, and delivery. The role blends operations leadership, continuous improvement, and people management.
What You’ll Do- You are responsible for all the operational manufacturing shift activities within the warehouse, goods in, material put away, Kan Ban process adherence, material handling and dispatch.
- Lead a cross functional team of Team Leaders and Associates by setting clear expectations and accountability through standard work, visual controls as well as utilisation of coaching and development techniques.
- Accountability for the Warehouse safety performance via use of risk assessment, 5s and visual management, adherence to all quality procedures and promotion of Kaizen and daily CI activities.
- Have a relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Materials Management or equivalent practical experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience in exporting/shipping processes/procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working in a warehouse / logistics / materials environment.
- Proven proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SAP and Oracle) to support inventory, processing, and reporting.
- Strong ability to deliver results under pressure in a fast‑paced operational setting.
- Highly organized, punctual, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Experience of coaching and developing people, including team leaders and operators.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Formal Lean or Continuous Improvement training is an advantage.
- Extensive experience in using SAP and Oracle would be beneficial.
