This role is a manufacturing technician position within a high‑volume medical manufacturing environment. The focus is on ensuring equipment reliability, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. This is a Night shift position, working a 4 on 4 off 12‑hour night shift pattern.

Main Duties

  • Health & Safety - Follow company H&S policies and legal requirements.
  • Quality - Monitor process and scrap data, acting quickly to maintain targets. Reduce scrap, improve yield, and support root cause investigations.
  • Delivery - Improve OEE and support process startups/changeovers. Respond to breakdowns rapidly and implement permanent solutions.
  • Responsiveness - Conduct preventative/predictive maintenance. Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cost - Monitor efficiency and drive process improvements. Maintain maintenance records per GMP/GDP.
  • Other Duties - Uphold equal opportunities standards. Be flexible as new tasks or updates to the role arise.

Core Competencies

  • Strong practical experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults methodically and logically.
  • Experience with PLC programming and vision systems is beneficial.
  • Skilled in communicating clearly, providing thorough shift handovers, and training others.
  • Solid understanding of safety and quality standards.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, and comfortable with urgency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ 3 in Mechatronics (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Electrical qualification is advantageous.
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining high‑volume production lines.
  • Familiarity with OEE, TPM, SPC, and working in technical support/maintenance roles.

  • Willingness to work unsociable hours, continental shifts, rotating patterns, and additional hours if needed.
  • Maintains a clean, disciplined work environment.
