The Systems Development Architect is responsible for designing, scaling, and owning business-led platform solutions that underpin Validation Services within Filtration Customer Success. The role focuses on optimising established operational platforms—particularly Smartsheet, automation, and Power BI—while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned to enterprise standards. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Validation Business Analytics & DBS and is part of the Filtration Customer Success located in Portsmouth / Amersham UK and will be an on-site role.

What You Will Do

  • Design and maintain efficient data models and transformations using SQL and modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake exposure preferred).
  • Support and implement integrations across key platforms (Power BI, Smartsheet, Snowflake, Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform), focusing on practical, scalable solutions rather than enterprise architecture ownership.
  • Partner with Enterprise IT and delivery teams to ensure alignment with governance and architectural standards (without full architecture ownership).
  • Maintain end-to-end visibility of portfolio execution: demand, capacity signals, backlog health, cycle time, OTD, and key failure modes; publish clear, business-focused dashboards and action tracking.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and enhancing analytics and reporting solutions, particularly across Power BI (including DAX), SQL/data modelling, and business workflow tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Excel).
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, user-friendly solutions, balancing technical design with practical delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical problems through collaboration and clear, audience appropriate communication.
  • Comfortable leading through influence rather than authority in a matrixed organisation.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel as required for onboarding, collaboration, and business events including periodic travel to Portsmouth/Amersham and occasional domestic or international travel.

Nice to have

  • Practical, hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools/platforms: Salesforce, Snowflake, Smartsheet (including Bridge), Power BI, Qlik, Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Automate), Box (API).
  • Experience working with data and systems in quality-driven or regulated environments (e.g. GxP), including traceability, controls, and audit readiness.
  • Applying continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean / DBS / Kaizen) to optimise systems, data models, and operational workflows.

Join our winning team today. Together, we’ll accelerate the real-life impact of tomorrow’s science and technology.
