The R&D Engineer will support research and development activities focused on the design, development, and validation of life sciences products. This role involves hands-on technical work, project support, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This position is part of Filtration R&D located in our Harbourgate facility in Portsmouth and will be an onsite role. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:

  • Assist in product, material, or process design and development.
  • Contribute to projects involving design, development, manufacture, validation, and documentation of life sciences products in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Maintain accurate project plans and records; provide progress updates as required.
  • Support efforts to ensure products are fit for purpose, validated, and manufacturable.
  • Collaborate with R&D team and cross-functional groups (Production, Sales, Suppliers).

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:

  • MEng with placement year, OR BEng/MEng with 1–2 years of industry experience.
  • Ability to analyse data and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Executing technical tasks and experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Application of engineering and scientific principles to solve problems and analyse data.
  • Maintaining accurate project plans and records; providing progress updates as required.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel - as required to the different sites.
