Responsible for operations governance, regulatory compliance guidance, DBS-driven EHS strategy execution, coaching, training, and primary EHS business partner for select Cytiva operating companies in the UK and European region.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, plan, coordinate, create, innovate, and direct Cytiva’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs and strategies and assure compliance with Global EHS regulations and standards to mitigate or eliminate EHS risks and drive value.
  • Collaborate with Cytiva leadership at all levels to ensure safety and environmental management is built into everyday thinking, including daily management, capital projects, global initiatives, SIF/pSIF hazard recognition, and management of change using DBS thinking, tools, and playbooks.
  • Collaborate with Global EHS team business partners and subject matter experts to ensure strong EHS fundamentals are in place and effective guidance and support structures exist for more than 120 site-level EHS leaders and associates across Cytiva.

Who You Are

  • 15+ years of experience as an EHS generalist developing and leading environmental, health, and safety strategies and programs in complex manufacturing operations with at least 5 years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environment, safety, health, environmental management or similar engineering or science discipline and appropriate NEBOSH diploma with necessary professional association membership (IOSH).
  • Advanced degree and relevant UK or European EHS related certifications a plus.
  • Solid understanding and ability to approach EHS problem solving, continual improvement strategies, and sustainment of results using DBS (lean, TPS) concepts and thinking.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present status and results to senior leadership.
  • Track record of influencing and developing strong partnerships and common goals with peers and stakeholders, and collaborating to achieve targets and deliver results.
  • Experience leveraging EHS data management systems (Gensuite), chemical inventory systems, Process Safety Management (COMAH, SEVESO), associate EHS training systems, Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) theory, and ISO 14001, 22301, & 45001 management systems.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel globally up to 30% within the UK and EU with occasional travel to North America and Asia.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 30 lb.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in Biotechnology Equipment, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device manufacturing. Ensuring compliance and conducting audits for environmental and safety regulations, especially in the UK and EU; lead auditor certification a plus. Experience as primary EHS sponsor or contributor to large, complex capital improvement projects and/or initiatives that require significant EHS management of change.
