Position Summary
The Site DBS Leader is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of operationally focused continuous improvement tools from the Danaher Business System (DBS) at the focused Manufacturing Site(s). This role will be responsible for utilizing DBS tools to develop robust operational and transactional processes leading to proactive improvement in performance across all areas of the business, as well as rapid, effective mitigation of problems/issues that affect operational effectiveness. This role covers all functions relevant to the fulfilment of Operational needs, and whilst the role will predominantly address DBS deployment and sustainment in Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, Facilities, and Finance, there will be the need to collaborate and share responsibility for the Direct Manufacturing areas alongside fellow DBSL’s.
What You’ll Do
- Drive optimization of KPIs around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (Cost) through the use of DBS tools and techniques.
- Drive and champion DBS and a culture of continuous improvement at global Operations sites using DBS tools including, but not limited to, Daily Management, VSM, 5S, SW, TPM, SMED, TPI, VRK.
- Actively participate, facilitate, and lead when necessary, daily, weekly and monthly Daily Management processes.
- Coach and mentor functional leaders in the use of structured DBS tools to facilitate sustained performance improvements through the engagement of their teams.
- Teach and provide ongoing support and guidance to build knowledge and capability across a variety of DBS tools.
- Work with Operations site leaders and their teams to create and sustain Policy Deployment frameworks, Bowler Charts, Action Plans and Problem‑Solving Processes; consolidate and analyze KPIs from all manufacturing sites within scope, resulting in the development of an Action Plan to address areas of opportunity.
- Champion adherence to the standards defined through the deployment of DBS.
- Identify and deploy appropriate DBS tools & techniques for supplier products and processes to drive tangible operational benefit.
- Manage the individual sites DBS leadership process, including Daily Management, Kaizen funnels, generation of Action Plans and their sustainment.
- Engage with and coordinate with any necessary Cytiva functions and/or leaders to remove any roadblocks preventing optimized operational performance.
- Develop & publish frequent operational performance updates to Site and OpCo Leadership.
- Lead the execution of strategic optimisation initiatives across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity to drive sustained year‑on‑year performance improvement through the effective deployment of DBS tools and methodologies.
- Identify, recommend, guide and ensure fulfilment of the appropriate number of CP’s (Certified Practitioners) across the manufacturing sites to ensure DBS skills are sufficient, relevant, and up to date for the sites within scope.
- Develop and maintain a DBS roadmap for the sites and functional areas to continue the development journey of DBS.
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in relevant Life Sciences, Engineering, Science, Business, Chemistry, or equivalent years of experience.
- Five years of progressive Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Unit or Continuous Improvement leadership in Life Sciences or similar industry, including two years' leadership experience.
- Solid problem‑solving skills – ability to resolve complex problems, communicate issues and propose solutions to both external customers and internal team members.
- High level presentation and interpersonal skills – able to communicate and present ideas to customers in a way that produces understanding and impact that builds effective strategic relationships.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi‑tasking, dynamic environment, while maintaining a forward‑thinking and customer‑first attitude.
- Ability to energize, develop and build rapport, collaborate and influence at all levels within an organization.
- Act as inspirational leader with optimism, highly approachable and humble.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
