Cyted Health is a leading gastrointestinal health company delivering minimally invasive diagnostics to transform access to esophageal care. Our EndoSign test combines a simple, swallowable device with cutting-edge laboratory biomarkers and analytics to detect esophageal cancer and its precursor, Barrett’s esophagus. Operating across the US and UK life-science hub, with hybrid, remote and onsite teams, Cyted is now entering a pivotal phase of growth. Backed by EQT Life Sciences and a $44M Series B investment, we are driving rapid commercial expansion in the US while continuing to scale across the UK.

This is a pivotal year for Cyted’s R&D function. As our US molecular diagnostic test enters final validation and early commercialisation, we are scaling rapidly - clinically validating assays for the US market, developing next-generation sequencing classification models, and expanding our diagnostic portfolio. To support this, we have just launched our brand-new UK molecular laboratory onsite at our head office. We are looking for someone dedicated to helping translate cutting-edge science and data into real-world patient impact.

Role: Computational Biologist

You will design and develop algorithms that integrate genomic, epigenetic and multi-omics data with clinical records to improve diagnostic accuracy, track disease progression, and identify patients at highest risk. You will collaborate closely with our Data Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product teams to ensure models are robust, deployable, and embedded into clinical workflows, directly contributing to advancing personalised, proactive care.

What you will be doing

  • Model Development: Design and develop innovative algorithms to interpret epigenetic profiles, genetic variants, and gene expression for early detection of GI cancers and inflammatory conditions. Build predictive models that integrate clinical, demographic, and molecular sequencing data to stratify patients by disease risk and support clinical decision-making. Explore internal and public datasets to identify new signals and opportunities for disease detection and patient monitoring.
  • Translation to Clinical Impact: Translate computational insights into robust, clinically deployable diagnostic tools used in real-world healthcare settings. Work closely with Data Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product teams to ensure models are scalable, reliable, and embedded into clinical workflows.
  • Collaboration & Scientific Contribution: Collaborate with NHS, UK and US academic and industry partners to support research and translational initiatives. Communicate findings internationally through publications, presentations, and contributions to the wider scientific and clinical communities. Evolve with the needs of our molecular models and teams.

Who you are

We’re seeking a confident, collaborative Computational Biologist to help advance our molecular diagnostic test during a period of rapid growth. You’ll bring strong expertise in computational biology and experience working with complex multi-omics and clinical datasets, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively across scientific, engineering, and clinical teams. Comfortable working independently, you’ll develop robust, scalable models and translate insights into real-world clinical applications. Hands-on, adaptable, and driven, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-led environment, turning cutting-edge science into meaningful patient impact.

Therefore You Will Have:

  • A MSc or PhD in a quantitative or biomedical discipline (e.g. Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Physics, or related field)
  • Experience analysing large-scale genomic, epigenomic, or transcriptomic datasets
  • Strong understanding of cancer biology and/or upper GI disease
  • Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and machine learning, with the ability to write clean, reproducible code
  • Experience developing and validating predictive models using real-world or clinical datasets
  • Ability to work with complex, multi-modal datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
