We are looking for an experienced Bike Mechanic to join our team, working within a spacious, well-equipped and well-stocked workshop facility. The position is full time, working 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 to 17:30. There is no late night opening, shift work or rotation. We also shut each day between 1pm and 1:30pm to ensure you get a regular, uninterrupted lunch break.
Skills/Experience Required
- You will be responsible for the repair and service of a wide range of bikes, as well as building new bikes for the shop floor.
- Experience with disc brakes, suspension forks and wheel building/repair is preferred, but not essential as training can be given.
- Attention to detail and working methodically is the foundation for the right team member.
- You must be self-motivated, able to work in a team to manage the workload, help to plan your daily/weekly bookings and work to a high standard whilst completing your work within the required times.
- Working autonomously, whilst making the right decision for the customer and the business is key to the role.
- You will need to be able to calculate and price up your work accurately and keep the customer informed of progress and outcome at all times.
- Excellent timekeeping is essential to ensure you arrive at work on time, take the breaks you are entitled to and complete your day's work.
- Experience in retail would be useful, as you will need to help with shop sales during busy periods. However, a willingness to learn and a flexible approach is more important than the time you have historically spent in this environment.
