Currently, we have one opening in the Durham, NC area for full-time traveling technicians.

The Role
CCE is seeking a highly motivated candidate with utility-scale solar experience to perform required preventative maintenance activities on solar PV systems. The Field Service Technician (Level 3) will also respond to corrective maintenance cases to troubleshoot, test, and repair PV systems ensuring they are following safe practices while working.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
- DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing.
- Maintaining the vehicle, tools, meters and truck stock.
- Creating service reports and maintaining spare parts inventory.
- Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
- Create operability and major issue/downtime reports.
- Respond on-call for emergencies as directed by your supervisor.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
- 3–4+ years of experience in PV maintenance, including DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring.
- Experience operating SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
- Proficiency with testing equipment and diagnostic tools including thermographic electrical inspection, IV curve tracing, Meggering, and ground fault detection.
- Skilled in all aspects of PV maintenance across DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications.
- Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified through field inspection and remote monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard design and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to take direction and execute tasks with minimal oversight.
- Valid Driver's License.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- NFPA 70E — Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with tracking systems across multiple manufacturers.
- DC array knowledge from module to inverter level, including ground fault detection, Voc and current checks, insulation resistance testing, and combiner box and inverter communications troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in EPC or construction environments, including cable pulling and electrical installation work.
Location: This is a 100% travel-based role. The individual in this role will be deployed to project sites based on business and project needs. Frequent and extended travel is required.

- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. PPE personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, hearing protection).
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

The role is remote with a home base in Durham, NC, with the expectation of daily travel to project sites within the surrounding region. Regular in-person presence on site is required. Candidates must be comfortable with daily local travel and managing work both in the field and remote.
